Seashell Wedding Cake

This was actually for a Wedding Tea - not the actual wedding but the happy couple were running off to the beach to get married so this tea also served as a Wedding reception. So I'm calling it a wedding cake! :)

Congratulations Amanda & Michael

Big Ole Wedding Cake

As delivered

This cake is made of Styrofoam blocks covered with Perma-ice (much like sheet rock mud). This is where my hero comes in! Mike has lots of experience spreading sheet rock mud so I put him to work. He did an awesome job and I really don't think I could have pulled it off without him. I cut out all the dots and stripes many days in advance and put them in the food dehydrator to cure. I then hot glued them to the cake. The Mother of the Bride did a little additional embellishments after delivery so I can't take 100% of the decorating credit. Many of you have heard me talk about this project but I couldn't post photos until after the big day. Congrats Whitney!
